President’s Message November 2013

It was great to see everyone at the Oktoberfest meeting. We had a great turnout, delicious food and much support from our sponsors. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the co-sponsors for their support: Chicago Cooling Tower, Imbert International, Infrared Inspections, Meilner Mechanical, Preservation Services, and The Hill Group. We had an overwhelming show of support for this year’s meeting and I am very grateful for their dedication to the organization. I hope everyone is enjoying their commemorative annual mug!

The next meeting will be November 20th at Bacardi at the Park. There are sponsorship opportunities now available for this exciting new location! Contact Alex ([email protected]) for details! Sponsoring an event is a great way to get your company name out there and make contact with the engineers. Attendance at the monthly meetings has been incredible, with nearly 400 people at each event. Sponsorship is a dynamic way to reach the membership.

While we have been enjoying this beautiful, warm Fall weather, we all know cooler temperatures aren’t far away. I trust everyone has had their boilers appropriately serviced and maintained throughout the summer and fall seasons. By practicing regular maintenance checks on your boilers and other equipment, you can extend the life of your systems and prevent rapid deterioration. This preventative maintenance can also save you money in the long run because your equipment will run more efficiently. This is also the time to begin building a supply of winter materials such as salt and snow removal equipment. It is our job as Chief Engineers to ensure the safety and comfort of the building occupants.

There are a lot of responsibilities we have as Chief Engineers, but the Chief Engineers Association is here to provide all the necessary resources to make our jobs run as smoothly as possible. Remember to utilize your Quick Shoppers to find Associate members to assist in any maintenance needs. They are the top in their industries and their services are right at our fingertips.

We have some exciting events coming up within the next year! Mark your calendars for the Installation Dinner Dance Saturday January 25th. Tickets will be available through any of the board members starting this month. Later this year is the Vendor Fair, where vendor members can display their companies and services to members and engineering guests.

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you enjoy time with you family, friends and loved ones.
