President’s Message

As this is my final President’s Message, it is the perfect time to thank the following people for their support without which my tenure would not have been possible or fruitful:

The membership who come out monthly to our functions and do business with our Associate Members, helping them to see value in our association. The men and women of this group are the most progressive members of our craft, and they make me proud to be a member of our group. I value all of you for your trust and friendship which you freely give at every meeting. Please continue to make new members feel the kinship you have extended to me over the years because it is one of the best aspects of who we are.

My family, starting with my parents Linda and Dennis for instilling a good work ethic which has allowed me to labor on when times were tough. My wife, Tricia, who pushed me to do the right thing and stood by me while sharing wisdom whenever needed. My two sons, Jack and Aidan, who continue to make me proud to be their dad.

As many of you know our magazine is logistically run by Fanning Communications, with John Fanning at the helm and backed by Karl Paloucek, Mariah Beavers and Jan Klos in the office, and Alex Boerner in the form of planning and arranging new locations and all things meetings-related. Without their work, we would be just a group of well-intentioned tradesmen and tradeswomen. So to this team, I say thanks for making, doing and being our go-to support and personally assisting me in executing a beneficial term.

As I transition off, I can attest that the financials are in order, the leadership chain is strong, and the future is bright. I wish all of you a great holiday season spent with your families, and look forward to seeing you at the December meeting at the Montgomery Club. The upcoming Dinner Dance and installation of officers is being held at Local 399 Union Hall on January 13th. Tickets are on sale presently for the Dinner Dance, and I hope to see many of you there for an evening of music, food, dancing and welcoming the new board and celebrating Dan Carey’s move into the president’s office.

All good things come to an end and it has been such an honor and pleasure to serve. It has been a great run for me, and I will come away with a gratitude for your trust. So thanks to all.
