I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. We have been blessed with some great, but very warm weather. Now is a good time to perform your infrared inspections of your chillers and associated switchgear. In this heat, cooling towers should get a visual check daily.
Living and working in Chicago subjects us to a variety of climate conditions that we must be prepared for. Many times the changes are abrupt and there is little warning. Handling the consequences of the weather is a large component of our job. In the winter, we must combat the cold and ice, and in the summer, extreme heat. However, with the help of our Associate members, we should be well prepared to handle all conditions. With anticipation and preparation for the extremes, we can rest assured that our buildings will run properlyÂ
These warm, mild months offer a great opportunity to make small repairs and updates. Keeping your facility up-to-date and fixing minor problems as they arise prevent costly repairs in the future.Â
The next event for the Chief Engineers Association is the 72nd Annual Golf Outing on September 14th at St. Andrew’s Golf Course. Sponsorship are still available so contact the office at 708.293.1720 to reserve your spot. While the foursomes are sold out, we encourage everyone to join us for dinner at the end of the day. The contacts you make at this event may be beneficial and lead to future opportunities for your company or business. I look forward to seeing you all there.
This month, as we all prepare to celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends, I ask that you keep our service men and women in your thoughts and prayers. They sacrifice their time with loved ones to ensure our freedom and safety. From the bottom of my heart I thank all those who serve this great nation we live in.
I look forward to our next meeting season with the upcoming Golf Outing. I hope you continue to enjoy the summer and I will see you in September.
