After an unseasonably warm Mother Nature has kept us on our toes this winter with a mix of warm and cold weather and hints of snow. We can only expect similar results for the coming spring. This is a challenging time of year for us as Chief Engineers. We are still dealing with bouts of winter, snow, and ice, but we also must prepare for the next cooling season. However, we are lucky because we have the support of our Associate Members, who are here to assist us and make the transition easier. Your recently updated Quick Shopper is a great tool to have in this case. And please remember to tell the Associate Members you found them through the Chief Engineer Association.
The organization has a very exciting year ahead. We have had a great start to the year so far with the 2012 Installation Dinner Dance in January and the 2nd Annual Skatefest in February. Big thanks to the Skatefest sponsors, Abron, Chicago Cooling Tower, and J&L Cooling Towers. Without your support, the organization would not be able to host such wonderful events. I would also like to thank all the volunteers that helped to make Skatefest a success. There was a lot of hard work that went into this event, and we as an organization, truly appreciate the efforts of our members, as well as their contributing family members.
As we move on into March, we welcome the annual St. Patrick’s Day Meeting on the 21st at the Irish American Heritage Center. This meeting usually brings a large turnout and I look forward to seeing everyone there. I am also pleased to announce The Boils will be joining us once again with their authentic Irish music.
The Chiefs are also preparing for the Mardi Gras themed Vendor Fair on April 18th at the White Eagle in Niles. We have already had many vendors and Associate Members sign up to exhibit that day so make sure to reserve your booth now! This is a fantastic opportunity for Associate Members and vendors to showcase their company’s services as well as for the Chiefs to learn about the newest technologies and services offered.
Another important reason to attend the Vendor Fair is the chance of winning a Harley Davidson or a generous cash prize. Be sure to contact a board member or the office at 708.293.1720 to purchase your ticket before April. The donation is $100.00 per ticket and it benefits the scholarship fund to aid students attending universities around the country.
Chiefs, please remember to keep the Associate Members in mind when their services are required at your facility. It is this interaction that keeps the organization running. I look forward to seeing all of you at the upcoming events.
