Ten Years Later — What Have We Learned?

September 11, 2011 marks the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center; and the heroics of ordinary citizens on aboard United Airlines, Flight 93 in Pennsylvania. While this month is certain to bring a number of retrospectives pertaining
to events and what has occurred since that fateful day, few will likely focus on the post-9/11 issues that impacted architects, designers, building owners/operators, and chief engineers. Such issues include new building code regulations, improved building safety systems and beefed up property security.
