President’s Message January 2014

Greetings and Happy New Year to Everyone.

As we enter in to the New Year, I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful & merry Christmas season. I would like to thank everyone who attended the Christmas dinner at the Montgomery Club. A good time was had by all, but more importantly, it was great to see the numerous amount of toys donated to families of the National Guard. The donated toys provide happiness to countless families over the holidays and the monetary donations are distributed throughout the year as grocery and gas cards to needy families. It is nice to know we are not only creating wonderful Christmas memories for families, but assisting those in need year round. I would also like to thank our generous sponsors for the evening, LionHeart Engineering and Preservation Services as cosponsors and Fieldstone Building as the Beverage Sponsor.

Thank you to all for electing the new CEAC Board of Directors at the November Educational Meeting. The new 2014-2015 Board of Directors is comprised of very talented, hard-working operations professionals who are extremely dedicated to bringing this great organization to the next level for all of our membership.

The new Board of Directors will be sworn in at our Dinner Dance scheduled for Saturday January 25th, 2014. This year’s dinner dance will be at the Westin, River North Hotel and is always a wonderful event and a great date night. Tickets are still available and can be purchased from any Board Member or by calling our main office (708.293.1720). I hope to see everyone attend to celebrate this special occasion with us.

I would also like to take this time to thank Harold Hacker and Ron Steele, for their service to the board for the past twenty years. They will be moving on from the Chief Engineers Board of Directors, but will be missed immensely. Their hard work, experience and dedication was second to none. Thank you and personally, it was a privilege serving with you gentlemen for the last seventeen years. We look forward to seeing you at our dinner dance, monthly meetings & events.

As your new President, my goal, working with our Board of Directors, will be to increase membership over the next two years. The motivation for this goal is to increase the network of potential customers for our Associate members and to expand the knowledge base and expertise of our membership. Our Associate members are incredibly supportive and their loyalty does not go unnoticed. Therefore, we will work as an organization over the next two years to increase the value of their membership.

CEAC is here to provide all the resources needed to make our jobs run as smoothly as possible. Please remember to utilize the “Quick Shopper” and contact our Associate Members for any of your maintenance and/or operational needs.

Please mark your calendar for this year’s family Skatefest scheduled for Saturday February 22nd, 2014. This event has been very successful and is free to all members and their families.

And finally, let’s not forget the men and women, who are serving our Nation for our freedom & protection. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I look forward to serving as your new President for the next two years. I hope to see everyone at the Dinner Dance and monthly meetings.
