Happy New Year! I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday with their family and friends. I cannot believe it is the beginning of a new year already. Time is really flying!
Thank you to all who attended and brought gifts and donations to the Christmas meeting this year. It never ceases to amaze me the generosity of our members. We are able to help so many families with these gifts and donations and I know first hand the National Guard is extremely grateful for our help. Not only does this help families during the holidays, but the gift cards we donate are distributed to those in need all year long for assistance with gas and groceries. I am so glad we are able to show our support for those who risk their lives for our country everyday. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank you all.
I would also like to thank those who sponsored the Christmas meeting; LionHeart, Midwest Applied Solutions, Preservation Services, JLS Industries, FSI, and Fieldstone Building. The Chief Engineers Association greatly appreciates their support! With their help, this year we were able to have the meeting at The Westin, which was a great treat for us all.
Next month, the board will meet for its annual retreat. At this time, committee chairs will present their plans and the entire board will discuss how best to meet our obligations to the organization throughout the coming year. We have much planned for 2013 including many educational presentations, meetings at new locations, and an ever-growing golf outing. I am very pleased with the progress we made in 2012 and I look forward working with the board and organization once again this upcoming year.
I invite you all to join me at the January Educational Meeting on the 16th at JC Restoration. They will be partnering with Rose Paving to host this meeting. JC Restoration has a state of the art facility and both companies will be making great presentations. I look forward to seeing you all there.
Also coming up is the annual Skatefest on February 2nd at Evergreen Park Ice Arena. This is a great event for all members and their families. There will be food, games, and fun for all ages. We are also looking for companies to sponsor this fun event. If you are interested or know of anyone who would like to support the organization please call the office (708.293.1720) and speak to Alex for more information.
I wish everyone the best for the coming year and I look forward to seeing you all at the meetings.
