Dominican University Upgrades and Saves With Nicor Rebate

The Chief Engineer visited with Matt Brickey of Metropolitan Industries at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois to learn about the work his company had performed there and how the university saved a lot of money through the Nicor Gas Company’s Rebate Program.

The Program
The Nicor Business Custom Incentive Program was established to help businesses save money on their energy needs and was designed to help businesses become more energy efficient by offsetting the cost of implementing energy efficient projects. Officials at the University were clearly interested in not only taking advantage of the Nicor program and reducing their summer utility costs.

The university contacted DRF Trusted Property Solutions in Plainfield, Illinois to identify ways to conserve energy. DRF made the decision to partner with Metropolitan Industries and asked that they develop and provide a custom solution that would both meet the Nicor rebate program requirements and fully capture as much energy savings for the University as possible.
